Be Thankful
Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
Gratitude isn’t always a walk in the park.
Recently, our family friend visited us, adding laughter and memories to our lives. Yet, I sometimes overlook why they come. It’s not just for the thrill of our adventures or the numerous parks we explore—it’s about being together and sharing the bond of family.
However, amidst the excitement, I lose sight of appreciating their effort, and negativity creeps in. I begin to feel like we’re just a pitstop, letting us shoulder the expenses.
This happens too frequently. I lose sight of the genuine reasons behind our actions.
Thankfully, my wife, the voice of reason, nudges me to count our blessings and be grateful for our present.
Expressing gratitude is a persistent challenge. It’s tempting to focus on the shadows, exactly what the Devil desires. He thrives on our discontent.
Sadly, I let him win more often than I’d like to admit. It’s a reminder to realign and embrace gratitude even amid life’s chaos.
