When Dan founded Eclipse DOT, his sole mission was to make a difference by providing invaluable DOT compliance knowledge. Recognizing a widespread lack of awareness in this crucial area, he set out to empower companies to navigate state and federal regulations effectively.
For two dedicated years, Dan worked tirelessly, offering his expertise free of charge to build a reputation for excellence. Today, Eclipse DOT collaborates with some of the nation’s leading contractors, smaller businesses, and countless owner-operators. Our commitment to excellence is evidenced by our active participation in influential industry organizations, including CVSA, TXTA, National Grange, and various trucking associations across North America.

Founder/CEO
A Journey from Farming to DOT Compliance Excellence
Dan’s journey to becoming a leading figure in DOT compliance began on a farm in southwestern Colorado. In high school, he earned his EMT certificate and served at a local fire department, ultimately rising to the ranks of certified fire engineer and captain in a volunteer department.
His career path led him to Coca-Cola, where he gained invaluable insights into last-mile delivery. Later, he managed a feed mill, drawing on his upbringing in animal science and transportation knowledge to guide the company to a year with zero violations during roadside stops.
Dan’s expertise expanded into the construction industry, eventually landing him in a role managing regional logistics and safety for a western U.S. equipment dealer.
In 2013, he identified a shortage of CDL testers in Southwestern Colorado, embarking on a challenging journey to become a third-party CDL tester for the State of Colorado. After a 1.5-year battle, he achieved this goal and was approached by an energy company to develop a commercial driver training program, laying the foundation for Eclipse.
Throughout his successful career, Dan attributes his achievements to his unwavering faith, stating, “Without God involved in every facet of my life, I wouldn’t have anything.”
On a personal note, Dan has been happily married to his high school sweetheart, Jenna, for over 16 years. They are proud parents of four children, Billy, Nathen, Brianna, & Jacob, and aspire to share their love of God with others around the world

Jenna grew up farming in Southwest Colorado.
Before having children she worked in a bank and quickly moved up. She loved helping customers with any issue that they might have had. You could say that she had an eye for detail and her clients could tell.
That’s why they would specifically request for her every time they came in.

Samuel joined the Eclipse-DOT family in the summer of 2021.
He was born and raised in Durango, Colorado, and graduated in 2016.
Shortly after graduation, he moved to Bellingham, Washington where he found a passion for helping others by working under Dr. Riya Paranthan, O.D.

Early in 2022, Richelle joined the Eclipse DOT team as an expert in the accounting world after earning her bachelor’s degree in financial management.
Richelle told us, “I always dreamed of being a teacher, but I believe God wanted me to work with numbers instead, and I am loving it!”
