I know exactly what it feels like to be thrown into a role you weren’t fully prepared for—because that was me 10 years ago.

Back then, I had just stepped into a DOT compliance role for a huge company with 746 drivers. Sounds intimidating, right? It was. And to make matters worse, the company had just failed a DOT audit. The FMCSA was breathing down our necks, and we were on the verge of having our DOT number revoked.

I had no playbook, no mentor, and no roadmap. Just a mountain of regulations, a team looking to me for answers, and the very real pressure to fix it fast.
