Dallas CDL School: Changing Lives, Losing Trucks—What Gives?

At a time when the trucking industry is scrambling for good drivers like kids at a birthday party going after the last piece of cake, one CDL school in Dallas is doing the unthinkable—training up second-chancers and turning them into pros behind the wheel.

But while they’re busy changing lives, someone else is busy stealing their trucks.
And not once.
Not twice.
Three times in three months.

Let’s just say, if there were an award for Most Unwanted Repeat Visitor? Big Klass CDL would have a shelf full of trophies by now.

🚛 Built for Redemption, Not Headlines

Big Klass CDL, founded by Kyree McClish, a disabled U.S. veteran, and run alongside his wife Carolina, is no ordinary CDL school. This place doesn’t just teach shifting gears—it teaches people how to shift their lives.

We’re talking about formerly incarcerated individuals, folks who’ve faced homelessness, and veterans trying to build a second career after serving their country.

“I’m a disabled veteran,” Kyree shared. “Giving back just feels like something every American should do. It keeps me in a good headspace.”

And that “give back” mindset? It’s been the fuel behind Big Klass—until someone decided to siphon it right out of their lot. Literally.

🚨 Trucknapping: The Timeline

Let’s break down the Grand Theft Semi saga:

May 31, 2025 – One of their trucks is stolen. Surveillance catches it. Police arrive… the next day. The truck’s eventually recovered.

June 28, 2025 – The same truck is stolen again. No, seriously. They come back for the same truck. This time, police don’t show up at all.

Early July 2025 – The thieves go big. Two trucks. One night. No happy ending.

“We had another break-in and this time they stole two trucks,” Kyree said, holding back the kind of sigh that can only come from someone who’s tired of replacing things that shouldn’t be gone in the first place.

Every stolen truck isn’t just lost metal. It’s a lost opportunity for someone ready to turn their life around. And every time Big Klass gets hit, students lose out.

👮‍♂️ When 911 Doesn’t Show, You Go Find the Badge

Frustrated by slow response times and radio silence, Kyree went full action hero.
He tracked down an officer in person to get help.

That persistence paid off.

Investigators found a paper receipt left behind by the thieves, which led them to a local Dallas business now under investigation.
No arrests have been made yet, but it’s a start. And Kyree? He’s still standing tall.

💔 Down Trucks, Lost Dreams

“It’s really sad,” said Carolina. “We’ve had to turn down businesses because we just don’t have enough equipment.”

Let’s not breeze past that. That’s people who want to enroll, want to work, want to build something—but can’t.
Because the equipment needed to train them keeps rolling away.

“I just want something done,” Kyree said. “We’re changing lives and putting people to work. I think we deserve that.”

He’s not wrong.

🚦The Bigger Issue Behind the Story

This isn’t just about Big Klass.
This is about anyone trying to do good in an industry full of real challenges.

This story reveals a hard truth:
⭐ Mission-driven CDL schools are easy targets
⭐ Police support is not guaranteed
⭐ Equipment security is mission critical
⭐ The industry needs to rally around second-chance programs

While some people are stealing trucks, Kyree and Carolina are still showing up—boots on, keys in hand—doing what they do best: building people up when the world tries to break them down.
